Overview:

The National Examination Board was established under implementation of the Education Act of 2073 under the eighth amendment. It is a Higher Secondary Education Board and also provides affiliation approval to the Schools and monitors school operations from their guidelines and arranges the scholarship program. It plays the jurisdiction of Class 10 (SEE Examinations) and SLCE (School Leaving Certificate Exam) of Class 11 and 12. It is an autonomous organization with interruptible succession to provide wholesome education at primary, secondary and higher Secondary levels in Nepal. In its organizational body there are Personnel Administration and Human Resource development, Research Quality and Government reform, planning monitoring and Evaluating division and Office of the Controller of Examination that conducts SEE and Plus 2 board exams on a timely basis. 

Team Members:

Chairman of National Examination Board is appointed by three member search committee formed in Chair of Civil Service Commission under which Secretary from the Ministry of Education is the Vice Chairman, Members in the Joint Secretary Education wing, Director General Department of Education, Executive Director Curriculum Development Center, Member Secretary of CTEVT, Controller of Examinations member of Tribhuvan University. Three persons with one female appointed by the Ministry of Education from Community and institutional high school members and first Class Officer from National Education Service are the administrative heads of National Examination Board at Sanothimi, Bhaktapur. 

Office and Branches:

Provincial offices of the National Examination Board are in Biratnagar, Janakpur, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal, Dhangadhi, and Surkhet. Branch Offices are also at Lahan, Hetauda, Dang, Kolhapur, and Dadheldhura. It also publishes exam results in other media portals and through telecommunications for a larger audience of SEE and Plus 2 exams periodically. The five branches at various districts provide provisional and Migration Certificates, transcripts, academic certificates and character certificates to the students appearing and passing from various Colleges under its academic jurisdiction.
