The various programs are as follows:

Bachelor of Business Studies

TU Affiliated

Bachelor of Business Studies program at Prime College is offered by Tribhuvan University. It provides managerial knowledge with principles and practices along with various branches of business such as marketing, finance, accounting, human resource, business law etc. It is of four years duration and the evaluation will be based on grading system of TU.

Bachelor of Business Administration

It is a semester based program designed with the objective of preparing graduates to mid level managerial positions to solve the business problems with logical implementation of managerial knowledge and skills. It is four years program of eight semesters with project work, internship, seminars and industrial tours.

Bachelor of Information Management

The BIM course at Prime is targeted towards making its graduates equip with the skills and attributes needed to become an effective and efficient IT professional in this fast paced world. Prime has established its name as the producer of outstanding talented individuals in the market. Bachelor of Information Management (BIM)  focuses on equipping students with the knowledge of both information technology and management.  It is a 4-year course consisting of 126 credit hours.

Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA)

TU Affiliated

Bachelor of Computer Application program of TU is a four years semesterwise program that produces high quality computer application users and developers. Professional career in IT companies of public, private sectors such as software developer, project Manager, system analyst etc. can be achieved from BCA degree.

Master of Business Studies

TU Affiliated

Masters of Business Studies of TU is a two years four semesters based graduate program that provides indepth study of Management with fourteen analytical and core courses, two specialization courses,thesis and seminar papers which makes the students the Masters degree holders. This program helps to meet the demand of high level Managers in business organizations of Nepal.

Prime College offers Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Technology which is a four-year, eight-semester program that consists of 126 credit hours. This program provides knowledge of computing and IT skills in designing, programming, applications skills in software project management and networking areas to produce graduates who can become professionals in IT fields like Software Engineer, Software Project Manager, IT officers etc.
 

Bachelor of Business Management

Prime College offers a four-year 120 credit hours BBM program from the Faculty of Management Tribhuvan University. This program provides knowledge on business tool courses, business foundation courses, and latest trends concepts of business environment to learners. It delves into concentration study on bank operations and Cooperative Management, Entrepreneurship And Enterprise Development, along with common knowledge of managerial, financial, marketing, operations, administrative principles and mechanisms of business functions with theory and practical knowledge and skills.
 

Prime College affiliated to Tribhuvan University is located in Khusibun, Nayabazar, Kathmandu. It is the first IT enabled college. The college is well equipped with excellent furnished rooms and extraordinary facilities. In addition to that, it also takes pride in its successful students spread in various fields of the world. It has been able to establish its name in the market as a producer of outstanding talented individuals.

The college provides the requirements of students such as the finest directive teachers, scholars, experts and faculty members. Likewise, Prime clubs constitute of active students. These five clubs push the them to learn through experience by organizing various events on their own. They flourish the leadership qualities, assist students in taking initiation, and sharpen their creativity and inventiveness. Prime Clubs have not only set their foot on events inside college but also been involved in organizing in out-college programs.

In a nutshell, Prime is a web of networks with computer labs, libraries, digital logic lab, physics lab, cafeteria and various other facilities. A Prime graduate is filled with desire to learn better, thirst for enhanced opportunities, flexible attitude, skills and high spirits.

  1. Prime Clubs and Associations:
Prime clubs provide a platform to the students which helps them enhance their skills and guide them in their journey. Clubs at Prime College are all about boosting up students’ confidence, personality, and pace for moving forward in the future as well as in the job market.

a. Prime Cultural Club:
 
Prime cultural club was established in 2003 to promote cultural awareness among the students regarding the uniqueness and the values of the diverse traditions in our country. The main motive of the club is to indulge the youths into the various cultures and practices which nourish the identity of Nepalese people. In respective occasions, the club organizes various events like Vintuna rally, Diversity day (new initiation), Deusi vailo, Teacher’s day, Christmas Celebration, etc.
 
b. Club 25 Prime Chapter:
 
Club 25 Prime Chapter, established in the year 2010 follows the same values and norms of Club 25 Nepal. This club performs various activities related to student’s welfare, especially a blood donation program and awareness program. The main motto is to retain the youth as a regular blood donor associated with the Blood Donors Association of Nepal. Promoting the value of saving lives by giving blood is the main objective of this club. The club mainly focuses on blood donation programs as the main event every year.
 
c. Prime Sports Club:
 
Prime sports club, the oldest formed club amongst the 5 clubs, was established is 2002. The main objective of this club is to support the students’ talent in various kinds of sports. The club helps to shape the skills of students in a proper manner. It has helped students to perform better in sports at any competition whether at the national level, inter-college sports or intra-college competition. In respective occasions, the club organizes various events like Futsal Competition, Basketball Competition, Prime Gala (Sports Week), etc.
 
d. Prime IT Club:
 
Prime IT club is the foremost club which is managed by creative as well as tech enthusiast students keen to research on the latest technologies in the market and help the students to understand it in a simple and easy way. Established in 2004, the club organizes different workshops, seminars, training programs, etc. These practices ultimately help the students to get ready for their careers. The club organizes various events like UI/Creative Design Workshop, Training on SQL Server, WordPress workshop, ICT Meet up every year, etc.
 
e. Prime Entrepreneurial Management Club:
 
Prime Entrepreneurial Management Club (EMC) is a team of purposefully driven individuals who believe in the power of leadership and its ability to aspire change in society. Established on July 15, 2012, Prime EMC stands tall and proud as they work together to foster the skills of Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Management, and Networking. Moving forward with the motto of “It’s we building us”, Prime EMC thrives to develop themselves while helping others to flourish. Various events managed by Prime EMC are, Graduation Ceremony, Masters TOT on Business Ethics and CSR, Team building workshops and seminars etc.
 
2) Developing Your Skills:
 
Prime College provides the students with innumerable opportunities which helps them grow and strengthen the skills required for a successful future. With a wide range of activities and training, Prime college strives to develop versatility among the students to help them propel to new heights. Prime aspires to provide special training and workshops to Students in order to boost their “Hard” and “Soft” skills. Hard Skills are mainly associated with technical knowledge and abilities that are required when performing a specific job. On the other hand, soft skills are often intangible and are associated with non-technical abilities.

3) Library:
 
Prime College provides students with a well-equipped library, a place where an idea comes to life. Additionally, we have over 300 internship reports, more than 450 fieldwork reports, and around 150 summer projects. Offering the students with a large and comfortable space, the library of Prime College helps the students in their academic areas as well as gain extra enlightenment in a peaceful environment.
 
4) Computer Lab:
 
The Computer lab in Prime College functions as a study station and a learning destination to help students fulfill their objectives and desires of discovery, innovation, and execution. Proffering the students with an up-to-date and high-quality computing tools, gadgets, and software along with a high-speed internet technology, the computer lab acts as a perfect point for the students to deal with their projects, research, and presentations.
 
5) Digital Logic Lab:
 
Prime College offers the students with a digital logic lab where the students can apprehend about digital computing and understand the communication of circuits and hardware within a computer.
 
6) Research Cell:
 
In due respect of the paramount importance of research in academia, a research cell has been established in Prime College, which functions under the Academic Council of Prime College. It is involved in carrying out the following activities:
• Carrying out the action in the area of different functional areas of management and information education.
• Guiding and facilitating research projects and summer projects of BBS, BBA and BIM programs.
• Encouraging and enabling faculty members to enhance their research skills and develop a career in academic research.
 
7) Auditorium Hall:
 
One of the important and central spaces of Prime College is the auditorium hall, a place for various activities like formal discussions, guest lectures, presentations, workshops, and other events. Prime College provides students with a fully equipped auditorium with a proper sound system, display arrangement, and a comfortable seating facility.
 
8) Cafeteria:
 
The cafeteria at Prime College provides a wide range of varieties of food and drinks at a reasonable cost. Accessible from early in the morning till late in the afternoon, it provides hygienic food and serves as a meet-up spot to the students. There is an extensive choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals and refreshments to help students rejuvenate themselves.
 
9) Value-added courses for Master’s program
 
Prime College aims to provide students with training to help develop soft skills like interpersonal skills, public speaking etc. as well as hard skills required by the students of business studies like accounting, marketing and so on. These skills will be beneficial when students enter the job market to pursue their career and will prove to be a stepping stone in their path to success.

Admission Information

The following is a detailed description of the eligibility criteria for all the programs available at Prime as stated by the Tribhuvan University.
 
Bachelor Science in Computer Science and Information Technology (BSc. CSIT):
  • Should have secured a minimum of second division (45%) in their +2 OR at least C (2.0 CGPA) in all subjects in Grade 11 and 12 by taking Physics and Mathematics of 100 marks.
  • Equivalent Degrees:
  1. A level in Science (including Physics and Mathematics of 100 marks) and passed at least in D grade.
  2. 3 years Diploma course in Engineering program from CTEVT with both Physics and Mathematics.
  • Should have passed the IOST Entrance Written-test conducted by TU [(Full marks:100, Pass marks: 40) English (25%), Mathematics (25%), Physics (25%) and Chemistry (25%)
Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) 
  • Should have secured at least D+ (1.8 CGPA) in all subjects in Grade 11 and 12 OR a minimum of second division (45%) in their 10+2, PCL or equivalent program
  • Equivalent Degree:
Successfully completed a twelve-year schooling or its equivalent from any university, board or institution recognized by Tribhuvan University
 
Should have secured a minimum of 40 marks (pass marks) in the Central Management Admission Test (CMAT: Full marks: 100) conducted by FOM.
 
 Bachelor in Business Studies (BBS)
  • Should have secured at least D+ (1.8 CGPA) in all subjects in Grade 11 and 12 OR a minimum of second division (45%) in their 10+2 or PCL
  • Pass a written test from College (Full Marks: 100, Pass Marks: 40)
 
Bachelor in Information Management (BIM)
  • Should have secured at least D+ (1.8 CGPA) in all subjects in Grade 11 and 12, or Minimum grade of 1.8 in total OR a minimum of second division (45%) in their 10+2 or PCL.
  • Should have secured a minimum of 40 marks (pass marks) in the Central Management Admission Test (CMAT: Full marks: 100) conducted by FOM:
 
Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA)
  • Secured at least 2 CGPA (not less than D+ in all subjects) or a minimum of second division in 10+2 or PCL
  • Secure pass marks [40 out of 100- English (40%), mathematics (50%), general knowledge (10%)] in the BCA Entrance Written Test conducted by TU.
Bachelor in Business Management (BBM)
  • Should have secured at least D+ (1.8 CGPA) in all subjects in Grade 11 and 12 OR a minimum of second division (45%) in their 10+2, PCL or equivalent program.
  • Should have secured a minimum of 40 marks (pass marks) in the Central Management Admission Test (CMAT: Full marks: 100) conducted by FOM.
 
Master in Business Studies (MBS)
  • Should have a BBS or any other Bachelor’s degree from TU or another university recognized by TU.
  • Should have secured a minimum of 40 marks (pass marks) in the Central Management Admission Test (CMAT: Full marks: 100) conducted by FOM.
Admission to Bachelors will take place immediately after the publication of CMAT, IOST and BCA result by TU (BBS admission open after the publication of +2 Result from NEB) and admission to Masters will also commence after the publication of CMAT result by TU.
