My icon, Oprah Winfrey

Transformation of a rebellious teenager into one of the most inspirational personality of today’s era is certainly appreciable. Once called unfit person for the media industry, today Oprah Winfrey has been dubbed as “Queen of All Media”. She fell, got bruised but never gave up. She faced life gracefully and is an inspiration to whole world.

Drugs, unsafe sex, molestation and violence were part of her childhood. Life was always cruel to her but instead of mourning; she fought back and knocked down the hurdles. Qualities that makes Oprah my favorite.

Owner of US$ 2.9 billion, Oprah is believed to be the wealthiest African-American of the 21st century. However, the journey from rags to riches was never easy but giving up was not an option for Oprah. She started her career
in the early 80s as an anchor at Nashville’s WLAC-TV. But now, she is the owner of her own production house called ‘Harpo Films’. She is not only just a media proprietor or
an actress or a talk show host but also a kind-hearted philanthropist.
