Occupational therapist is a person who uses a scientific base and holistic perspectives to help people become more productive and overcome obstacles and difficulties in performing day to day tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
Usage of observation, medical history and answer of the patients to evaluate their medical conditions
Demonstrate exercise that can relieve pain with chronic conditions such as joint stretch for arthritis sufferers.
Educate the family and employer of the patients about how to take care and accommodate the patient
Help people with disabilities, memory loss and autism to make them more active
Recommend equipment such as wheelchair, slynge, eating aids and teach them about using those equipment.
Engage them in social participation or also at outdoor rehabilitation centers.
Work Areas
Work areas of Occupational therapist are Neonatal Intensive Care Units, Early Intervention, Schools, Outdoor Patients, Primary Care, and Human Displacements and Chronic illness.
