This curriculum aims to cultivate Diploma Engineers, specifically Junior Architects, by delivering essential expertise and competencies relevant to the field.

Objectives of Diploma in Architecture Engineering: -

The primary objectives of the program are outlined below:

  • Develop human resources capable of undertaking works in architecture engineering fields such as rural and urban development, design and development of buildings, and other civil infrastructure development
  • Participate in meeting the demand for the required architecture skills for public and private design and development in Nepal

  • Candidates must have passed SEE or an equivalent degree or TSLC in a relevant subject

Objectives of Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch): -

The primary objectives of the B. Arch program are:

B. Arch at Tribhuvan University (TU): -

Under TU, a Bachelor of Architecture degree is a five-year academic program with ten semesters. Total number of seats available is 175 seats. 

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture program at TU:

  • Candidates must have secured a minimum C in all subjects in Grades 11 and 12
  • Applicants must clear the entrance examination conducted by the respective academies

Fee Structure:

The initial cost for enrolling in the Bachelor of Architecture program at TU is set at NPR 318,880.

B. Arch at Pokhara University (PoU): -

Under PoU, B.Arch is a five-year course that covers the spectrum of planning, structural designs, landscape Management, interior design, furnishing, conservation and restoration of application of electronic devices and communication applications. 

Eligibility Criteria:

To enroll in the Bachelor of Architecture degree at PoU:

  • Candidates must have a C grade in all subjects or must have completed intermediate level in science or higher secondary in Science or a diploma in engineering or equivalent level from a recognized body
  • Applicants must pass the entrance examination conducted by the respective university

B. Arch at Kathmandu University (KU): -

KU also offers a five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree which has a total of 30 quota each year for aspiring students.

Eligibility Criteria:

In order to be eligible to pursue a Bachelor of Architecture at KU,

  • Candidates are required to achieve a minimum aggregate GPA of 2.4 and a minimum grade of C+ in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) or Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science (PMCs), as well as a minimum grade of C in other subjects.
  • Applicants applying for B. Arch in KU have to appear in the KUCAT test and go through a computer-based test.

Fee Structure:

The total cost of the Bachelor of Architecture program at Kathmandu University is NPR 790000. Scholarship will also be available to the students on a merit basis and semester-wise GPA basis.

B. Arch at Purbanchal University (PU): -

The five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree of PU has a total of 148 seats available each year to aspiring students. There are many renowned colleges affiliated with the Purbanchal University that have been offering the Bachelor of Architecture program.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for a Bachelor of Architecture at PU:

  • Candidates must have completed Plus 2 or PCL Physical and Biological group with 45 percent aggregate or diploma in Engineering or Architecture from any board recognized by PU
  • Applicants must clear the entrance examination conducted by the respective board

Masters of Architecture at TU:

The Masters of Architecture program in Nepal is a 2-year post-graduate program that can be pursued after the completion of graduation. As of today, this program is offered by Pulchowk Campus | Institute of Engineering (IOE) in affiliation with the Tribhuvan University.

Eligibility Criteria: -

The minimum requirements to be fulfilled in order to pursue a Master of Architecture are listed below.

  • Candidates must graduate from the Bachelor of Architecture program from a recognized university
  • Applicants must clear the MSc entrance examination
