Nepal is an agriculture based country. The topography, climatic conditions, fertile lands and the dexterity of farmers are rewarded by lush harvest of crops, seasonal vegetables, and fruits. In order to promote horticulture and animal husbandry as a profession among the younger generation, there are many agriculture college in Nepal that provide academic programs related to that field. It started with an initiative of the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science to train junior assistants in agriculture. First academic program was launched in the intermediate level with the I.Sc. Agriculture program. After that Tribhuvan University launched a similar education program in Agriculture at Pulchowk and its constituent campuses - Rampur Campus, Lamjung Campus, Paklihawa Campus, and Gauradaha Agriculture Campus.

Tribhuvan University, Agriculture and Forestry University, and Purbanchal University are providing B.Sc. Agriculture with honors at their affiliated colleges in Nepal. CTEVT offers two Diploma courses in Agriculture through several schools and training institutes of Nepal. Those courses are Diploma in Agriculture (Veterinary Science), and Diploma in Agriculture (Plant Science).

Entry Requirements:

In order to be eligible for the bachelor degree in agriculture, the candidates must have cleared their +2 or A level or equivalent intermediate level in Science stream. The candidates are also expected to have a sound General Knowledge in order to be eligible for B.Sc. Agriculture program.
